Get to know us…

The Mulberry Players was founded by Katie Bennett and Heather Heim Lawson, two lifelong artists with a shared vision to expand performing arts opportunities in the growing community of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Both bring years of professional experience and deep-rooted passion for the arts.

Katie, owner of Studio One Eleven, holds extensive training in dance and dance education, complemented by years of stage performance and choreography experience. Heather, owner of The Lawson School of Music, is a professional performer with credits across the state in both opera and musical theatre, as well as a respected educator in music and theater.

Recognizing a need for more opportunities for both professional and hobbyist performers, guest artists, and crew, Katie and Heather created The Mulberry Players as a home for immersive, community-connected theater. The company blends professional artistry with local spirit, offering productions that celebrate creativity in all its forms. From musicals and cabarets to interactive dinner theater and walking tours that bring stories to life. We also believe in showcasing new Playwrites and their works! This Season, we will be showcasing the works of Caleb Pless in two of our productions.

Beyond the stage, The Mulberry Players are dedicated to giving back. A portion of every production’s proceeds supports local charities and initiatives, ensuring that the arts continue to inspire, connect, and enrich our community for years to come.
